Chapter 3
I aimed my phone camera directly at the woman's face. "Folks, meet this lady who claims to be Daniel Miller's 'true love.' Right now, she wants my mother-in-law and me to kneel before her."
The comments on the live stream instantly went from anger to a flood of mockery.
\[Kneel? Is her brain broken? Make Scarlett and her mother-in-law kneel to *her*?]
\[LOL, who is this person, so basic, yet so confident? 'True love,' does CEO Miller even know?]
Eleanor also spoke up, "Young lady, power that comes from a man blows away with the slightest breeze."
Tiffany's face instantly turned scarlet with rage. She grabbed a wine bottle. "Old hag! Stop acting like you're so wise just because you're old!"
I instinctively pulled Eleanor behind me.
*Thud!* The bottle smashed hard against my back.
Wine soaked through my dress, and glass shards cut my skin.
I grunted, falling to my knees.
"Scarlett!" Eleanor shrieked in terror.
The woman pointed at me, yelling at the surrounding security guards. "What are you looking at?! Grab this crazy woman! And that old hag! Tie them both up!"
Several menacing security guards advanced on us.
Eleanor anxiously said, "Wait!" She then called Daniel and put him on speakerphone.
Just as it was about to go to voicemail, Daniel's impatient voice came through, mixed with a woman's giggling in the background.
"Mom? What is it? I'm kind of busy here."
"Daniel, Scarlett and I are at your new bar. Scarlett was hit with a wine bottle protecting me and is bleeding badly," Eleanor said anxiously.
Daniel replied dismissively, "Mom, why did you two go there?"
"I have a very important business dinner here; I really can't leave."
"Take Scarlett to the hospital first, and let Tiffany handle everything. All medical expenses are on me."
"I'll... I'll come see you later."
With that, he actually hung up the phone.
"Beep... beep... beep..."
So her name was Tiffany.
Eleanor's hand, holding the phone, trembled uncontrollably.
"Heard that? Daniel doesn't care about you two at all!"
"Security! What are you standing around for?! Throw them out!" Tiffany waved her hand, saying triumphantly.
The security guards closed in again.
"You just heard your boss's voice. He's just busy and can't leave right now."
"But if you dare touch us, I promise you, you'll deeply regret it!"
I shielded Eleanor behind me, forcing myself to stay calm. "And I'm still live streaming, you know. If this gets out, I wonder if your bar will have any business left!"
