Chapter 2
\[OMG! Scarlett, your head is bleeding! Who did that?!]
\[Daniel's other home? What does that mean? I just came from CEO Miller's financial interview live stream, he said he was coming home to have dinner with Scarlett tonight!]
\[Who's that woman up front? So arrogant! I know this bar, it just opened. Heard Daniel Miller is the owner!]
\[My husband is the owner? So... is that woman the owner's wife?]
Comments flooded the screen, scrolling so fast they were a blur.
Meanwhile, the woman opposite me casually lit a cigarette.
"Your husband? With your pathetic look, do you really think you're good enough for Daniel?"
"Stop flattering yourself. Take this old hag and get out, or I'll call security!"
I was about to argue when I noticed the wristwatch on her wrist β "Overture of Time."
It was mine.
Just yesterday, Daniel had held my hand, his face full of concern:
"Scarlett, the watch strap is a little loose. I'll take it to the master's apprentice to adjust it for you, and get it serviced. I promise you'll be wearing the perfect watch tomorrow."
I laughed, telling him he was making a big deal out of nothing, but his thoughtfulness melted my heart, and I gave him the watch.
But I never imagined it would be on another woman's wrist at this very moment!
My live stream followers were sharp-eyed and spotted it too.
\[Wait! That watch! Isn't that Scarlett's 'Overture of Time'?! The only one in the entire world!]
\[Holy crap! I remember that watch! When CEO Miller gave it to Scarlett back then, we all said it was a fairy-tale romance! How is it on this woman's wrist?!]
The woman obviously saw the comments. She deliberately raised her wrist. "So you really are Daniel's wife. Even better!"
"Let me tell you right now, this watch is proof of Daniel's love for *me*! Who do you think you are? You're nothing but a wife in name only! Daniel loves *me*!"
"You don't deserve to wear it," I said coldly, clenching my fists.
"Scarlett, let's go. Don't bother with people like her." Eleanor's face changed as she looked at the watch.
"Old hag, trying to leave? Not until you clean up the mess you made!" The woman stepped forward, blocking our way, grabbed a bottle of red wine, and poured it over Eleanor's head.
"Aren't you live streaming? Perfect! Today, I'll let everyone see how you and that old hag kneel down and lick the wine off my shoes!"
She waved over a few black-suited security guards who had come over to see what the commotion was about.
"What are you standing around for?! Grab these two fools for me!"
"When Daniel gets here, I want him to see with his own eyes how these two pieces of trash kneel and beg for mercy!"
