The transmigration girl occupied my identity and was the licking dog of the boss for three years. Now, I am back.

Chapter 4

Looking at Lily, she was awkwardly flailing, her limbs soft, moving around on him, all while constantly apologizing with a red face, “Mr. Alexander, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry.”

Seeing this, Chloe excitedly roared, “What are you two doing?!”

Only then did Lily seem to suddenly regain her courage, springing upright.

She nervously tucked her hair behind her ear, feigning composure. “You, who are you?”

“Who am I?”

Chloe scoffed, pointing at Alex imperiously. “I’m his wife!”

Lily looked down incredulously, her face full of disappointment. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know.”

Chloe was utterly stunned, she couldn’t help but rant to me, “Oh my god, she can’t even hold files properly, and all she does is apologize?! She’s a… a total waste! And *she* gets to be the female lead?!”

“Seriously, where’s the justice in that?!”

I was speechless, feeling just as annoyed.

Yes, where was the justice?

And why did this system even exist?

Lily bit her lower lip, her eyes reddening, looking utterly pitiful.

Chloe had told me that she *hated* women like this the most.

Because she herself had been in a car accident, left hanging by a thread, and then forced by this damn system to do these tasks, all thanks to a woman like that.

So she just sneered and launched into a series of rapid-fire questions: “You didn’t know?”

“Who in this company doesn’t know what the boss’s wife looks like?”

“At the very least, our wedding photos are all over the internet…”

“What, is this your first day online, or your first day in this company? Don’t try to play innocent with me!”

Alex adjusted his suit, walked around his desk, and looked at Chloe with displeasure. “Why aren’t you managing your charity foundation? What are you doing here?”

I froze for a moment. He actually knew about my charity foundation?

No, it had to be just an excuse.

I couldn’t believe that in such a short time, he had reverted to his cold CEO persona, so composed as he protected the woman he supposedly loved.

Love truly makes one's potential limitless, I thought, a hint of bitterness.

“I came to catch… to bring you a loving lunch! But who knew…”

Chloe snorted, reading her lines with feigned anguish. “I love you so much, I’m so good to you! And this is how you treat me?!”

“That was just an accident, don’t overthink it. We were just discussing work.”

Alex’s voice was dangerous, yet strangely pleasant to listen to.

Chloe was furious. She pointed at Lily and spat, “You two were discussing work by hugging and cuddling? Why don’t you just kiss already?!”

Lily’s face turned red. “Mrs. Alexander, you’ve misunderstood. How can you slander someone so unfairly?”

“I’m slandering you? Your intentions are practically written all over your face! You…”

“Enough.” Alex reached out and stopped the increasingly agitated Chloe, saying with displeasure, “Go back home. Don’t let your imagination run wild.”

However, Chloe continued to unleash a torrent of curses at both of them until she felt satisfied, then turned and walked away with her head held high.
