Reborn on My Wedding Night: I Chose the Driver's Daughter
Chapter 5
“Everyone, get out of here! This house belongs to the Millers!”
At my words, everyone looked at me with disdain, chiming in one after another:
“He truly is an idiot. The heads of the Miller family are Ms. Isabella and Ms. Chloe. You, Asher Miller, are just a parasitic dog. You should learn to behave yourself and keep your tail tucked!”
A dull ache pierced my chest. I swept my gaze across the crowd, my eyes blazing with murderous intent.
Just as I was about to speak, I saw Rhys holding my grandfather’s handwritten family motto.
A wicked smile played on his lips, calculation practically dripping from his eyes.
He raised an eyebrow, his voice chillingly cold.
“Since you want it so badly, I’ll give it back to you then.”
He slowly walked towards me, and the moment I reached out to touch it, he ripped the motto into shreds, flinging the pieces into my face.
Then, a chorus of ear-splitting laughter erupted, the sound like sharp needles piercing my heart.
Blood rushed to my head instantly. My eyes turned red as I seized his collar.
“You bastard! You’re dead, you hear me?! Aaaargh!”
That motto was the only keepsake my grandfather had left me.
It had hung in the old mansion for twenty years, inscribed with our family’s core principles, meant to remind future generations.
How dare Rhys destroy it!
Bodyguards rushed over, pinning me firmly to the ground, my cheek pressed against the cold floor, a chill seeping into my heart.
I struggled desperately, but Rhys lifted his foot and ground it hard onto the back of my hand.
Isabella and Chloe’s tightly furrowed brows relaxed at the sight.
“Tomorrow, at the wedding, hand over the heirloom jade bangle that represents the Miller matriarch. Otherwise, don’t blame us for getting rough.”
My eyes were bloodshot, and I scoffed, shaking my head.
My expression was icy. “There will indeed be a new Mrs. Miller, but it certainly won’t be either of you.”
At that, Isabella and Chloe burst out laughing.
Isabella sneered, “Besides us, who else would want to be the foster ward of a useless man like you? The Miller family raised us for years; we’re part of this family. The Miller family’s assets naturally belong to us too.”
Hearing Isabella’s utterly shameless words, the coldness in my heart deepened.
They seemed to have forgotten the look on their faces when they knelt, pleading humbly for me to choose them.
“You’ve enjoyed wealth and luxury for so long, have you forgotten where you came from? Don’t forget who gave you all of this.”
My words pierced directly into the most vile depths of their hearts. Both their faces twisted.
Their eyes darted nervously, then they glared at me with bitter resentment.
They tied me to a chair, letting the so-called guests pour drinks all over me.
This was their punishment for me.
