Reborn on My Wedding Night: I Chose the Driver's Daughter
Chapter 4
Seeing my nonchalant attitude, Chloe was enraged.
She immediately ordered Alfred, the butler, to kick me out of the house and commanded me to kneel outside until Rhys forgave me.
I was surprised that even Alfred, who had served the Miller family for years, obeyed them.
The plan to usurp me had likely been laid out long ago.
A fine layer of cold sweat prickled my spine. I felt a chill run through me.
I left the old mansion without a backward glance. Make me kneel and beg Rhys for forgiveness? They must be dreaming.
The moment my foot stepped out of the old mansion, I was struck unconscious from behind.
Through a haze of fading awareness, I dimly heard voices.
“Ms. Isabella, you can’t draw any more! If you do, Mr. Miller will die!”
The doctor’s voice was anxious, pleading with Isabella.
Her voice was cold, like a demon descending, utterly merciless. “Draw one more bag, just in case. He’s still too energetic, daring to hit Rhys again and again. If we don’t teach him a harsh lesson, he’ll never learn to behave.”
A single tear of regret slipped from the corner of my eye.
The Miller family had nurtured them for years, only to raise two ungrateful wolves.
When light finally greeted my eyes again, I slowly opened my heavy, weary lids.
Every inch of my body screamed in pain, and the dizziness from blood loss made my vision black out in waves.
I painfully fumbled for the phone in my pocket and called the person I least wanted to humble myself to.
With everything finalized, the wedding day drew closer and closer.
The mansion was bustling with activity.
The sounds of laughter and chatter relentlessly pounded against my eardrums. When I appeared before everyone, disheveled and pale,
Countless disdainful gazes fell upon me.
Rhys stood in the center of the crowd, surrounded by admirers, Isabella and Chloe flanking him on either side.
My family’s ancestral home had been desecrated by these people; even the family motto, personally inscribed by my grandfather, was covered in dirty footprints, shoved under a table leg.
Rage instantly surged through my limbs, making my body tremble.
“You’re all asking for death!”
I roared, the suppressed emotions finally exploding.
But only more sneering laughter answered me.
Chloe tossed her hair, her eyes filled with contempt as she looked at me. “It’s just something from a dead person anyway. Why bother?”
“Tonight is Rhys’s celebration. Get lost, don’t be an eyesore here,” Isabella added impatiently.
I almost laughed. Dogs daring to chase away their master?
