Five Years Back, a Different Groom

Chapter 4

3,267 words

Early the next morning, Ethan came to pick me up.

When he saw me wearing a wedding dress, his brows drew together.

“Didn’t I tell you that I’d make up for your wedding later?”

“Go change out of that dress!”

The bullet comments were furious.

【Who wants your compensation? Stop disgusting people!】

【Our girl is obviously the main character today!】

I gently pinched the edge of my skirt.

“I’m not changing.”

The dress had been designed for me by a man himself and specially flown in from overseas that morning.

Thinking of him warmed my heart, and the corners of my lips lifted slightly.

“This dress isn’t for you.”

Ethan clearly didn’t believe me.

He glanced at his watch.

Perhaps he was running out of time, because he frowned and dragged me straight into the car.

“As long as you don’t make a scene and ruin Lily’s wedding, you can do whatever you want!”

I quietly looked out the window and gave a careless little laugh.

“I won’t make a scene. I’m still waiting to give you a special wedding gift.”

Ethan stared at me for two seconds.

He was just about to say something when the car stopped outside the hotel.

Lily greeted us with a bright smile and hooked her arm through Ethan’s.

“Ethan, does the baby look pretty?”

Curious eyes instantly focused on me.

When I saw the wedding dress Lily was wearing, my fingers tightened.

It was the dress Ethan and I had chosen together on my birthday.

Back then, he had looked at me expectantly.

“Claire, I really wish you could marry me today.”

But now, it was being worn by another woman.

If this had been my old life, I would have rushed over in a rage and torn Lily’s dress to pieces.

But now, I only relaxed my fingers slightly and gave a soft laugh.

When Ethan noticed my smile, a complicated emotion I couldn’t understand appeared in his eyes.

Lily, however, seemed suddenly provoked and lunged at me.

“Today is the baby’s wedding! Big Sister isn’t allowed to wear the same dress as me!”

Her long fingernails suddenly raked across my face, leaving a bright red scratch.

Ethan acted as if he hadn’t seen it.

Before I could react, he guarded Lily behind him.

“Claire, don’t provoke Lily. Take off that dress right now!”

I casually wiped away the blood and raised my hand, striking him hard across the face.

“Who do you think you are to tell me to take off my wedding dress?”

The bullet comments instantly erupted in cheers.

【The Slap Princess is online! Beat that scumbag!】

Ethan was so stunned by the slap that he didn’t recover for a moment.

Only when Lily rose onto her toes and planted a sympathetic kiss on his cheek did he finally regain his senses.

“Baby’s giving Ethan a kiss. Ethan doesn’t hurt anymore!”

Only then did he glare at me furiously.

“When will you ever be half as sensible as Lily?”

“Since you insist on making a scene, don’t blame me for humiliating you!”

“Today is my wedding with Lily. You have no right to steal the spotlight!”

With that, he waved over the bodyguards.

“Strip the wedding dress off her!”

When I saw the bodyguards surrounding me, fear instantly rose in my heart.

I gritted my teeth and backed away. After stumbling two steps, I suddenly fell into a warm embrace.

A familiar voice sounded beside my ear.

“Today is my wedding with Claire. What right do you have to take her dress off?”

That is the end of the free sample.
