Reborn on My Wedding Night: I Chose the Driver's Daughter

Chapter 2

“Asher! How dare you lay a hand on Rhys?!”

I froze, two lifetimes of memories crashing into each other, making my head throb.

Isabella and Chloe each slapped me, and Chloe, always the fiery one, immediately kicked me hard in the stomach.

Pain shot through my body, but the emotion in my eyes flared, twisting into a bitter, chilling smile.

In my past life, at this very moment, Isabella and Chloe were parading Rhys around the company like he was already the CEO.

They’d been blunt, explicitly stating that Rhys was about to take over as president.

And I? I was expected to step back after the wedding, become a house husband with no say.

After all, my reputation as a useless heir? I owed it all to them.

I stared at the three of them, my face cold as ice, a terrifying hatred making my body tremble.

Even the company employees showed me, their actual boss, no respect.

Snickering and mockery rang out one after another.

“Mr. Miller is a total good-for-nothing, a scaredy-cat and useless. If it weren’t for Ms. Isabella and Ms. Chloe supporting him all these years, the Miller family’s century-old business would have been ruined by that incompetent fool. Does he even have the nerve to cause a scene?”

“You’re right! I’ve been waiting for a new president. I hear Rhys graduated with a finance degree from a top-tier university like Harvard. With him leading us, our salaries are sure to double!”

At that, a smug look crossed Rhys’s bruised face.

I remembered my past life. He had barged into my office, interfering with a real estate project we were about to develop, insisting on adding some remote town to our carefully planned urban area.

I’d been furious, suppressing my rage only to punch him square in the face.

Isabella and Chloe had walked in just then.

They’d flown into a rage, dragging me out of the office by force.

They had publicly reprimanded me, then taken turns physically attacking me, all to vent their anger on Rhys’s behalf.

As the memories flooded back, I glared at their greedy, malicious faces.

A mocking smirk tugged at my swollen lips.

They’d enjoyed the pampered life in the Miller household for years, yet they’d forgotten their humble origins. It was time to make them face reality.

Isabella heard the employees’ words, grinning from ear to ear.

She cast a rewarding glance at the employee who’d spoken up.

“Rhys is incredibly talented; only he deserves to be in charge of this company. Wouldn’t you agree, everyone?”

Isabella’s deliberately leading words sparked cheers from the crowd.

They seemed to forget that the true owner of this place was me.

I slowly lifted my eyelids, watching the farce unfold with a blank expression, a dark glint in my eyes.

I was already calculating my next moves.

Reborn, I wouldn’t waste another second caring about them.
