Chapter 5

The Cloud Summit Group owns a hospital. I used to come here when I was sick to avoid spending money, conveniently charging it to Alexander's account.

The fact that Alexander was accompanying Natalie for the check-up nearly made my jaw drop.

The hospital director handed the report to Alexander, saying, "Mr. Thorne, this is the full body examination report. Mrs. Thorne is in very good health."

"I remember when she came for her first check-up two years ago, her body was lacking in various vitamins. But this examination shows that problem is gone now. It seems the madam has been taking her supplements regularly."

Back then, I had just married into the family and was falling ill every few days. The director had suggested I get a full body check-up.

My poor health was due to malnutrition. The hospital had prescribed a bunch of supplements to improve my constitution.

But medicine is partly toxic, so after taking them for half a year and feeling much better, I stopped continuing.

I wasn't sure if the medicine actually worked, since they were now examining the well-fed Natalie.

Alexander took the report and flipped through it casually. His hand suddenly paused on one page.

Just as I was about to float over to take a peek, he quickly flipped to the back.

After finishing, he asked, "Aren't these recent symptoms typical of pregnancy?"

I nearly choked on my saliva. Although his suspicion wasn't directed at me, he knew I took contraceptives after every time.

Besides, with my issues of cold constitution and weak blood, how could I possibly get pregnant?

The director shook his head. "The weather has been hot lately. Many people are suffering from summer heat exhaustion. I've prescribed some Huoxiang Zhengqi water. Mrs. Thorne should feel better after drinking one box."

Alexander lowered his eyes, looking at the report in his hands without saying anything.
