Chapter 6

When I woke up, my friends from the ward were all gathered around.

"Boss, did your brain short-circuit again?"

"Who messed with you, Boss? I'll go invisible and take them out."

I sat up and smiled. "It's nothing, just minor stuff."

Finn handed me a cup of water. "Boss, drink some water first."

Leo stopped Finn, touching the cup. "Can't drink it. The water's 90 degrees right now, and the right angle will get stuck in her throat."

What a clown.

I looked towards the door. "Where are Jasper and Milo?"

"Jasper's out fishing in a washbasin, and Milo's releasing fish tofu into the pond."

I nodded.

Dr. Evans pushed the door open and walked in. "Aren't you guys supposed to be saving the world? Why are you all crowded around your boss?"

"We're not going. The world isn't as important as our Boss," they mumbled.

Dr. Evans glanced at me. I quickly took their hands. "The people need you!"

Only then did they reluctantly run out.

"Rowan, this is your new medication. Take it on time, and call me if anything happens."

I took the medicine Dr. Evans handed me, secretly musing, "What would happen if Asher took these?"
