I knew my parents' thoughts too well.

Unless it directly impacted them, they wouldn't budge.

Because Scarlett was the first child in the family, Mom already showed her favoritism.

I, on the other hand, was unwanted from birth.

Originally, Mom wanted to try for another child, but by then her body wouldn't allow it.

So, she expected Scarlett to marry into our family, to stay home, to stay by her side.

My sister and brother-in-law's relationship was initially disapproved of by our family. He was from out of town and from a single-parent home, with his elderly mother relying solely on him to carry on the family name.

Who knew my sister would be so utterly blinded by love for her husband? She took out mountains of debt for him to start his company, telling our parents that her husband secured the investment through his own capabilities.

Our parents just went along with it.

Who knew that after only three years, such a massive bombshell would drop? The company turned out to be a total sham.

My parents still bragged proudly to everyone outside every day about their son-in-law running a big company and making tons of money.

And now, they were whining about being broke and demanding solutions.

My sister was great at manipulating Mom. She didn't directly ask for money, but rather pressured our parents to make me get a loan.

In my previous life, I was just a mute, only capable of refusing.

This time, with myself and my family tied together in this mess, I wondered what my parents would choose?
