I was coerced by Jasper into donating a kidney to my sister, and I died right there on the table.

Upon my rebirth, I realized I was the main character in a romance novel, and my sister had awakened early to try to eliminate me.

I resolved to no longer be merciful.

When I allied with a billionaire CEO to fight back, Jasper locked me to the bed, kissing me passionately: "Promise me you won't see other men, okay?"

I was restrained on the cold operating table, the glaring light above making it impossible to open my eyes.

Yet, I held back tears, turning my head to plead with Jasper beside me, "Jasper, please, let me go?"

A flicker of hesitation crossed Jasper's face, but Daphne's anguished expression quickly drew his focus.

At that moment, Daphne looked at me with a pitiful pallor, "Sister, just one kidney is all it takes to save me. Surely, you wouldn't be so selfish?"

She started to cry softly right after. "Brother Jasper, if sister doesn't want to, maybe we should wait..."

Listening to her, Jasper's eyes turned resolute. He held my hand and said tenderly, "Lydia, just this one time. I'll give you anything you want once we're back."

Hearing him, I released his hand.

At that moment, I gave up, realizing that saying anything more was futile.

I spoke coolly, "Get on with it."

But tears slipped from the corners of my eyes.

I don't know if I died or if I was dreaming, but I vaguely heard sounds of struggle and someone trying to wake me, "Sister, I'm sorry, I came too late..."
