The Heartbeat She Lent

I was the wife who threw tantrums. The one who threatened divorce every time I felt unloved. And every time, he will came back and begged.

Then she came home-His first love.

This time, when I said "divorce," he signed the papers. No chase. No apology.

What he doesn't know: my artificial heart expired months ago. I chose to keep our baby instead of replacing it.

While he drinks champagne at her art gallery opening, my heartbeat is fading to a flatline.

He thinks I'm playing games again.

But this time, the game is over. And the prize is my life.
