What it is about
Introduction
On our fourth wedding anniversary, I almost died from a slice of mango cake.
My husband, Rowan Hale, knew perfectly well how severe my mango allergy was. He rushed over, gave me the injection himself, held me, and kept telling me not to be afraid, like a husband who still loved me.
But all Maeve Sinclair had to do was say, her eyes red, "This is all my fault. I never should have stayed here," and he let go of me to comfort her.
That was when I finally understood: it wasn't that he didn't know who mattered more.
He simply chose her. Every single time.
