Looking back, the oath is empty

For fifty long years, Clara had poured her entire life into Arthur.

When he was injured and disabled during a mission, she quit her respectable and stable job as a TV anchor, staying by his side, massaging his legs daily.

He’d claimed he never wanted children, and for that, she suffered ten miscarriages, leaving her permanently infertile. Yet, not once did she utter a single word of complaint.

Everyone used to say Arthur had won the cosmic lottery, blessed beyond measure to have a wife like Clara.
