What it is about
Isabela came about when I was finishing A Delegada, an intense and highly successful book in my career. Everything was going well, the writing was flowing, then grandma left this world, and that affected me. What I knew about the forest, about farms, had to do with it. It was on his farm that I learned to ride a horse, became familiar with the land, woke up early to milk the cows, collected chicken eggs in the late afternoon, and ate fruit from the tree.
