Shelters

Each shelter provides a wonderful indoor/outdoor setting for reunions, parties, or general get-togethers. Each shelter has long tables, running water, restrooms, and electricity. You will need to bring your own grills and cooking equipment, and remember no open flame devices may be used inside the shelters.

General Rules for Shelter Rental

1. The basic park rules apply: no alcoholic beverages, no pyrotechnics or smoke-generating machines, and no duct tape, confetti, or sparklers.
2. Bicycles and dogs are not permitted in the shelters and dogs must be on a leash at all times.
3. You are prohibited from using loud sound producing or amplification devices that might disturb others.
4. No parking is permitted in front of the shelters during the function. Where permitted, parking may be done along roadways as long as all four wheels are kept on the road.
5. Picnic tables may not be moved or rearranged in the shelters.
6. Any Buhl Farm Trustee, Park Management, Park Ranger, Police Officer, or Fire Marshall may enter the area at any time during occupancy to ensure compliance to park rules.
7. The Renter agrees to accept responsibility for damages caused by their use, including the replacement value of any lost, stolen, damaged, or missing equipment or property.
8. ...and PLEASE DO NOT FEED THE WILDLIFE!

Shelter #1 (seating capacity for 192 people)

Shelter #1 is located behind the Performing Arts Center and is close to the Lartz playground, several sets of swings, and restrooms. It has two sections that can be rented individually or together.

Shelter #2 (seating capacity for 460 people)

Shelter #2 is located toward the upper southeast end of the park and opens onto a spacious grassy area for activities. The shelter is divided into four sections that can be rented individually or together.

Shelter #3 (seating capacity for 120 people)

Shelter #3 is located near the Gatehouse/Forker Blvd. entrance to Buhl Farm Park. Swings and playground equipment are a step away and there is a large open grassy area nearby. The shelter is next to the bocce courts and bocce balls may be used-on-loan by prior arrangement or by calling the Main Office (724-981-5522) or Park Rangers (724-962-9648). The two sections can be rented individually or together. Electric, running water, and restrooms are available.

Shelter #4 (seating capacity for 132 people)

Shelter #4 is located near the 7th Street/Hazen Road entrance and offers a distant view of the Casino and Lake Julia. The two sections are directly next to a playground and can be rented individually or together. Electric, running water, and restrooms are available.
