Get Outdoors Day
National Get Outdoors Day (GO Day) celebrates America’s Great Outdoors and encourages kids and their families to explore the outdoors. June 8, 2013 will mark its sixth anniversary and the fourth anniversary for Buhl Park’s participation. Last year there were 117 official sites nationally. This year Buhl Park has been named an official site and will celebrate the day offering a variety of outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy. GO Day is a focused effort to invite Americans to designated sites on a single day, as well as to highlight and assist the efforts of National Get Outdoors Day partners year-round. GO Day helps to combat indoor, inactive lifestyles which are fueling the nation’s obesity epidemic and threatening today’s children with shorter life expectancies than their parents.
